A man has been arrested after a robbery in Kawasaki at an expensive watch shop. Another suspect is still at large.

Around 1 pm, two people entered the shop near Kawasaki Station in Saiwai Ward and broke its display cabinets, then fled.

The suspects, according to witnesses, were dressed in black masks. Store employees were pursuing them on foot. One store employee sustained injuries during the chase.

In a video obtained from news agencies, Takahiro Yagi, 26 is restrained on the floor near the store by staff. In television interviews, an employee of a kebab shop assisted in the chase after hearing shouts “Robbery!” on the street.

When asked by the police if the suspect on his left was a close friend or not, Yagi replied that he didn’t know. Yagi was arrested in Takatsuki (Osaka Prefecture) on suspicion of robbery with injury.

Police say that a third party may have assisted the second person to flee by vehicle.

In Tokyo, Quark Ginza 8888 was broken into by masked thieves earlier this month. They smashed display cabinets and fled with the stolen goods.

The four Yokohama citizens were arrested after police discovered the abandoned vehicle near a building in Tokyo’s Akasaka district.

According to Yomiuri, even though the three suspects initially claimed not to be friends, the seized phones have convinced investigators that they are.

A witness said that a getaway driver was in the vehicle when the Ginza robbery took place.

The robbery continued despite the fact that passersby walked past the Ginza shop, tried to film what was going on, and closed the doors.
